This Privacy Policy explains how WEALTH INSURANCE PTY LTD (referred to in this Policy as Wealth Insurance, we, us or our) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you use our website, request quotes, engage consulting services, or participate in referrals to third-party AFSL licensees.

1. Legislative framework

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Policy applies to information about individuals. Where corporate information identifies individuals (for example, directors), we treat it as personal information when APPs apply.

2. What we collect

Depending on your interaction with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details (name, address, phone, email)
  • Information about your visa status, residency, employment or business activities that you choose to disclose for consulting scope
  • Financial circumstances described at a high level for readiness or referral preparation — we instruct clients not to send card numbers or passwords by unsecured email
  • Correspondence, file notes, workshop attendance records, and invoices
  • Website technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) via cookies described in our Cookie Policy
  • Consent records for referrals, including email confirmations

3. Why we collect and use information

We use personal information to:

  • Deliver consulting, education and readiness services under engagement letters
  • Respond to enquiries and quote requests
  • Introduce you to AFSL licensees with your consent
  • Invoice and administer accounts
  • Comply with law, respond to regulators, and manage complaints
  • Improve website security and content relevance

We do not sell personal information to marketing list brokers.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose information to:

  • AFSL licensees or authorised representatives where you consent to referral
  • Lawyers, accountants or migration agents where you authorise coordination
  • IT and cloud service providers hosting email or file storage under confidentiality arrangements
  • Professional advisers assisting Wealth Insurance with legal or audit matters
  • Government agencies where required by law

If you request coordination with advisers in Hong Kong or Macau, overseas disclosure may occur with your consent. Overseas recipients may not be subject to APPs; we will describe this when relevant.

5. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures include access controls, password policies, and secure disposal of physical documents when no longer required. No internet transmission is completely secure; please use caution when emailing sensitive documents — we may direct you to more secure channels during engagements.

6. Retention

We retain files for periods necessary to deliver services, meet legal obligations (including tax and AML awareness records), and resolve disputes. Referral consent records are typically retained for at least seven years unless a longer period is required. You may request destruction of documents not subject to legal hold when an engagement ends.

7. Access, correction and anonymity

You may request access to personal information we hold about you, or correction if inaccurate, by emailing service@wealthinsurance.net.au. We may decline access in circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act. You may interact anonymously with general website content, but we cannot deliver consulting or referrals without identifying information.

8. Complaints

Privacy complaints should be emailed to service@wealthinsurance.net.au with sufficient detail for investigation. We will respond within a reasonable period. If unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au).

9. Marketing

We do not purchase client lists. Educational communications may be sent to existing clients where permitted; you may opt out of non-essential marketing using instructions in the message or by contacting us.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy by posting a new version on our website with an updated date. Material changes will not reduce your rights without notice where practicable.
